Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, has been released from the Kuje Minimum Custodial Centre in Abuja after meeting the bail requirements.set by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.

Adamu Duza, the spokesperson for the FCT Command of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), has verified the information.

He also noted that the Controller of NCoS FCT, Ajibogun Olatubosun, was in attendance to facilitate Bello’s seamless release, ensuring that all required protocols were properly followed.

Please be informed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has charged Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, with two distinct allegations of financial misconduct.The misconduct cases pertain to the purported embezzlement of ₦110.4 billion and ₦80.2 billion, respectively.

The court has granted Yahya Bello bail in the amount of ₦500 million for each of the two charges, resulting in a total bail condition of ₦1 billion is the amount involved, with charges related to the alleged misappropriation of ₦190.6 billion.
